I have so many positive comments from Edmonton residents on my last budget nursery post that I thought I would share some more idea’s for these special rooms. There is nothing like that nesting instinct to keep your interior decorating thoughts into gear but the budget does not always keep up 🙂
Simple things can go a long way in a nursery – colour being first. It is so easy to add colour to a neutral back drop with accessories and can be as little as some artwork or ribbons. How about framing paint chips, a bright toy or even a cheery pair of mitts?
There are many paint applications as well to add personality and finishes. My current favorite to use is the magnetic primer with chaulk board paint over top. Why not make the whole room a rotating canvas? Or check out how these young parents (www.younghouselove.com) used a magnetic primer and fabric magnetic letters (www.etsy.com/shop/BeyondTheSeam) to creat a fun wall for thier daughter.
Remember to keep the furnishings simple and neutral which allows you to update a room by simply changing up the little things like a pillow and lampshade.
