If you are having a Halloween Party this year (and with our cold Edmonton winters we spend most of Halloween inside!) and are looking for some simple decorating ideas for you house, check out these simple DIY projects to add some spookiness in…
Most of what you need for these projects can be found around your house and backyard. Or use these pictures as inspiration to come up with your own version and create a one of a kind piece. Black candles, mason jars, and a little glue goes a long way.
The spider egg sacks can be made simply by filling a black garbage bag with crumpled up newspaper and then hanging the whole thing in a large piece of cheese cloth. Add some spiders from the dollar store and you have a high impact Halloween decor that is easy to remake each year. The mummy might be a bit more of a challenge to find a body unless your husband volunteers!
The mason jars are a throwback to kindergarten when you glued figurines on the lid and turned it all upside down. Spray paint twigs and some plastic bugs and you are good to go. Make sure to create a grouping out of different size jars and “stuff” inside for a complete look.
Use the battery operated candles to light a glass vase with twigs in it for soft lighting. How about rather than cranberries (save that for Christmas) you float little sculls or plastic eyeballs in the vase for a really creepy centre piece?
