Welcome to the AMR Design Blog!

Hello and welcome to our blog! We are so excited to use this platform to share information about how and why AMR Design does the work we love to do and to share lots of design inspiration along the way.

Today, for our very first post, we wanted to introduce ourselves! If we haven’t met yet, let’s change that! If we have, well then we are happy to share a bit more of ourselves with you today.

Who Are We?

Our Principal Designer is Brenda Brix. Brenda grew up in the home building business so it seems only natural that she would end up as an Interior Designer (but fun fact – first she had a career in Molecular Genetics!) She launched her design career in 1998 and opened AMR Interior Design and Drafting Ltd. in 2010. Brenda describes her design style as “modern effortless luxury.”

Alexis is our Project Lead. She assists Brenda in drafting, sourcing, communicating with clients and trades, and clerical duties. Once Brenda has come up with the overall design, Alexis is responsible for overseeing it with our contractors and the team.

Nikki is our Junior Designer. She assists the AMR Design team with drafting and sourcing unique materials and items for our clients homes.

Suzanne is our Office Manager. She has an extensive background in banking and assists the AMR Design team in all of our invoicing, payments and other office duties.

Francesca is our Communications and Marketing Assistant. She assists the AMR Design team with client communications, social media and marketing opportunities.

What do we do?

We are a full service Interior Design company that operates in Edmonton and surrounding areas. In short – we help people create the homes of their dreams. But of course, it is much more than that! We do all the heavy lifting when it comes to renovations and/or designing a newly built home. We pride ourselves on our tried and tested Design Process that Brenda has perfected over the years. So what does this actually mean for AMR Design clients?

It means you don’t need to lift a finger.

It means your project runs smoothly.

It means you can trust that your project is being
planned and executed by some of the top leaders in the industry.

Our creative solutions and hands on service ensures that every project finishes with happy clients and a HGTV-like reveal of your new consciously designed home.

What are the benefits of hiring an Interior Designer?

Did you know that hiring an Interior Designer can not only save you money, but also save you many headaches along the way? AMR Design regularly takes part in industry only events, product launches and seminars so you can trust that we are up to date with the trends. We know how to use these trends effectively to complete a design that will stand the test of time as well as wow our clients (and anyone who enters their home). We sometimes even have access to products that the general public doesn’t even KNOW exists.

While not all Interior Designers pass along industry savings to their clients, we believe in sharing the discount. We share any industry discount we may receive with our clients – which means you end up saving money on many design aspects.

Also, through years of experience, we have perfected the process to bring your dreams into reality. This means we save our clients money in costly errors and returns.

Lastly, many of our clients are busy professionals and may not have the time (or desire) to run a renovation project. That’s where we come in. The firm’s talented and professional design and support team is backed by some of Alberta’s most prominent contractors whom we have long-standing relationships with. This is why you can trust that your project is going to run smoothly when you hire AMR Interior Design.

And finally ... what does amr stand for?

While we are business women and designers at heart, we are also parents. AMR Design was conceived with that thought in mind. “AMR” stands for Brenda’s three children: Atley, Matthew, and Ryanne.
