All of the gift ideas below were compiled by our team members as some of our personal favourites (This year we are also sharing which AMR firm member chose which gift idea so you can gain some insights into our team).

However you celebrate, we hope you have an enjoyable holiday season filled with family and friends creating amazing memories together.

Dust & Wood Charcuterie Boards: Talented Local Craftsman Personal Favourite for AMR Designer, Alexis For the entertainer in your life, we suggest checking out the amazing woodwork of Dust & Wood. Dustin’s talent extends far beyond his cutting boards and smaller pieces – his one of a kind furniture pieces are sure to wow you as well if you’re looking to add in some natural wood furniture into your home.

If you can dream it, he can build it! Dustin can be contacted via instagram at or through his website at

Personal Favourites for AMR Principal Designer Brenda

Poppy Barley: Shoes With A Social Mission As a busy designer, Brenda is on her feet – a lot. On job sites, running from location to location, you can usually find her sporting a pair of Poppy Barley shoes. This local Edmonton company has a strong focus on creating a better business for the planet and its people. They have numerous social projects and goals including a focus on diversity and inclusion, using responsible materials, better packaging and an ethical production process. In addition to all of these perks, they make incredible shoes that are built to last!

Urban Stillness: Natural Wood Earrings (Made By An AMR Client!) One of our amazing past clients has started a jewelry line called Urban Stillness. These one-of-a-kind, handcrafted, reclaimed organic earrings have also become a favourite of our Principal Designer. With their minimalist appeal and natural materials, these handmade accessories are sure to match any aesthetic.

Kananaskis Nordic Spas: A Mountain Adventure Experience Personal Favourite for AMR Marketing and Decorator, Francesca In January 2022, AMR Design is attending a team retreat to the mountains and the Nordic Spa will be our first stop! Set in the beautiful Kananaskis Mountains, this one-of-a-kind outdoor hydro spa is sure to relax and revive you after a long day of hiking. Take a dip in their hot tubs, followed by a plunge in a cold water tank to wake up the body and clear your system of toxins. Then relax in one of their wood fired saunas until you feel ready to take the circuit on again! On top of their hydro circuit, guests can indulge in massage services to complement their time at the spa.

Donate to The Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton (SACE) As suggested by The AMR Design Team If you are looking to give back this year, we suggest a donation to the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton (SACE). This important not-for-profit organization founded in 1975 helps support people who are impacted by sexual violence. AMR Design is currently volunteering our time and resources along with Modern Era Design, Design Loft, Gary Duggins Paint and Decorating, Vertican Blinds, Urban Granite, and Iron Elements to create a more inclusive playroom for SACE. Their playroom space, once filled with a beautiful but child centered hand drawn mural, needs to appeal to children and adults of all ages, ethnicities and cultural backgrounds. SACE receives core funding from the government of Alberta and the City of Edmonton, but they also truly need your donations in order to continue doing the important work they do.

If you are able to donate, please do so at this link: Alternatively, if you have a service or product you would like to donate to the inclusive playroom project, please contact

Studio YEG – For the creator or art lover Personal favourite for AMR Designer, Christine This local artist studio has something for everyone! Whether you are looking to purchase art from a local artist or take an art class, Studio YEG Art can help with that! Founders, Cass Miller and Jamie Hager (who also owns and operates Hager Group, an award-winning master builder in Edmonton) each have a strong creative streak in their bones which has paid off in their businesses. The art studio, located on Fairway Drive in Westbrook, recently wrapped up studio time for kids to create their own Christmas gifts. You can view all their studio offerings here:

Their online grocery store houses local food items from baking and dairy products to beer and dumplings and everything in between. They also have a “Secret Meat Club”, which is a monthly subscription box filled with charcuterie, sausages, cheese and condiments delivered right to your door. Learn more about Meuwlys here:
